We were in Stillwater, MN for Thanksgiving at my Mom and her husband David's new house. We went a day early so that I could learn how to make kratakaka (I have no idea if that is how it is spelled, we couldn't agree on the spelling). It's a Norwegian sweet bread that takes quite a process to make. My grandma was the only one who knew how to make them so my mom and I decided it was time for her to teach us. It is similar in texture and thickness to lefse, but instead of being made from potatoes it is made of mostly flower. I am so appreciative that my grandma took the time and energy to teach us some special traditions! love you gram!
