2016 Christmas Letter

We kicked off the year (literally the first week of 2016) with a trip to Mexico. We went with Brenton's family back to our honeymoon resort. Isaiah took his first steps on this trip! Luckily he wasn't truly walking yet so it was still a "relaxing" vacation for mom and dad.

Brenton won a trip through Farm Bureau which meant we got to go to Maui, Hawaii in April! Isaiah stayed back with Grandma and Grandpa Henly while we got to lay on the beach for a week. It was a bucket list experience for both of us and we will forever cherish the memories made that week!

We went on another Farm Bureau trip to Colorado Springs this summer with Isaiah. One of the highlights of that trip was a dinner that was hosted for us at the zoo. They shut down the zoo just for our group and we got to feed the giraffes. Isaiah had no fear!

On November 7th we welcomed our daughter Norah into the world. We had another incredible birth experience and thank God for her safe arrival! [Click here to read her full birth story.] She is such a doll and we are madly in love with her. Big brother, Isaiah, loves his new sister. She is showered with kisses daily.

Isaiah will be 2 on February 2nd. He loves to play ball and roughhouse with dad. Every day he seems to learn a new word and is extremely curious. He definitely has his moments (mom has been figuring out timeouts), but for the most part he is a very sweet little boy!

Brenton will be wrapping up his 6th year at Farm Bureau Financial. This year he added some new staff and the office is growing. It continues to be a challenging but rewarding job for him. Even though we were expecting Norah this fall, Brenton still got out and did some hunting. He shot a nice buck a couple of weeks after she was born.

My main job these days is being a full time mama. I feel so grateful that I have the opportunity to be with them everyday. It was definitely an adjustment (still is) going from 1 child to 2. With God's grace I make it through every day! I also am the coordinator for a ministry called MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), and have met an amazing community of fellow moms. Every now and then I do some graphic design work, but have enjoyed taking a step back to focus on motherhood.

We continue to make progress in settling into our home. We finished Isaiah's room as well as prepared Norah's nursery. Slowly but surely we are making this house our home.

We look forward to what 2017 will bring. We already have some trips planned and are excited to adjust to being a family of 4!

Merry Christmas!
